Q4 Newsletter October- December 2025

A note from our founder...

Dear Friends:

Our word for 2025, fittingly, has been STEADY. God gave me the phrase “Steady she goes,” a nautical command for holding course through rough waters. And this year has required exactly that. Our team members have faced several parents’ deaths, cancer, miscarriages, illnesses, difficulties with kids, marital struggles, a near-death accident of a daughter and then miraculous healing, surgeries, new jobs, law enforcement promotions and retirements, and behind the scenes involvement in national headline events.

Through it all, our team has remained STEADY. We grew in number and depth. When one member couldn’t live up to his/her responsibilities, others took up the slack. We supported one another, taking calls at all hours, dropping everything to “be there,” and hundreds of encouraging texts, calls, and gifts were sent to one another. New people were embraced as if they’d been with us for years. I truly believe we have the best team of men and women in the country!

We worked thousands of hours pro bono, building our organization in foundational and strategic ways. We sought out wise counsel, followed nuanced advice, and grew as leaders, speakers, peers, and helpers.

As 2025 came to a close, I became very mindful of the value of relationships. Family. Friends. Tribe. Community. And the power of support and love. When we have others walking with us, we are stronger, more confident…steady.

And somehow, we emerged from this year better. Even through difficult times, we strengthened our financial plan, our volunteer policy, our Board, our vision, our partnerships, and our mission. We smile at 2026, eager to push up our sleeves after the holidays and get to it. There’s much work to be done, but we are confident moving forward.

Thank you for being a part of the How 2 Love Our Cops’ community—whether you are a volunteer, a donor, or benefitting from our work, we are ALL better TOGETHER.

Donor Appreciation Night, Loomis, California: Our Team hosted a beautiful gratitude event for donors past and present with a huge charcuterie board, desserts, and forward vision. It was an intimate evening of food, easy networking, celebratory conversations with several members of our team, and deep thanks.

C.O.P.S. National Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana: Victoria and her husband Brent both spoke on officer and family support, both active and those who’ve died in the line of duty. How 2 Love Our Cops held a booth that was inundated by attendees, over 100 departments requesting more information. Many conversations with departments, potential partnerships, and peer conversations took place. It was a whirlwind of morning to night networking and building relationships with people from all over the country. We’re still following up!

These are highlights of our work, but do not reflect the peer calls, the conversations, resources sent out, and many hours of preparation our team has put in these last three months.

Our Team
Our Mission

The invitation to be a small part of a big milestone is something we are truly honored to be part of. Washington State liaison Corina Shipp helped new officers and their families begin their journey feeling celebrated, better equipped, and connected to those who want to champion their success is at the heart of our mission.

It truly is a TEAM effort - many thanks to:

Blue Hero Project for partnering with us to bring words of encouragement and amazing custom cookies by Whats Her Buckets Cookies

SW WSCJTC for welcoming us into this special celebration, and to the incredible leadership and staff who continue to believe in what we do and graciously invite us back.

Recently, Oregon state liaison Danielle Nutting had the honor of joining Portland Police Families at their annual family event a meaningful gathering centered on connection.

The event was filled with laughter, shared stories and heartfelt moments that celebrated not only the strength of Law Enforcement community but also the families who stand faithfully beside the badge every day. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of community, support and taking time to celebrate life together amid the unique challenges of law enforcement.

Thank you, to Portland PB for inviting H2LOC!
